Kindle Reset

Restart: Restarts your Kindle. You will not lose the books, clippings, or other files stored on the device. In the event your Kindle freezes up, you can do a hard reset by pressing the Power button for 20 seconds.

Tap the top of the screen, tap the Settings contextual menu (3 lines in the top right corner). When you're on the Settings page, tapping the Menu button displays additional options: Choose settings / Reset device . If your Kindle does not power on or is unresponsive during use, try resetting the device by disconnecting your Kindle from any power source, and then sliding and holding the power switch for 15 seconds before releasing.
Note that the screen will be blank for about 30 seconds while your Kindle restarts.
5th edition factory reset
Reset to Factory Defaults: resets your Kindle to its original factory settings and restarts your device. You should only select this action if instructed to do so by Kindle Customer Service. Before you reset your Kindle to factory defaults, you must back up any personal documents, periodical issues older than the past seven issues that you’d like to keep, MP3, and Audible files. Once your Kindle restarts, you must create a new device password if you want to continue to password-protect your Kindle.
How to repair speech sounds distorted
Try restarting your Kindle by doing the following:
1. Press the Home button.
2. Press the Menu button.
3. Select “Settings.”
4. Press the Menu button.
5. Select “Restart.”
If restarting your Kindle does not resolve the issue, then try doing a factory reset of your Kindle. Prior to doing so, back up any personal documents, periodical issues older than the past seven issues that you’d like to keep, MP3, and Audible files. To do a factory reset:
1. Press the Home button.
2. Press the Menu button.
3. Select “Settings.”
4. Press the Menu button.
5. Select “Reset to Factory Defaults.”
6. After your Kindle restarts, go to Archived Items in Home and re-download the items you’d like to read. Transfer back the personal documents and other files you had previously backed up.
Kindle Fire HD hard reset / factory reset
Pull the Main Menu down and click on More.
Go to My account and Tap Deregister.
Once the information is removed, go to Settings and press More.
Go to Device and tap Reset to Factory Default.
Hit Factory Reset and confirm my tapping Erase Everything.
The tablet will be shut down and erase all the data.
