UPDATING FIRMWARE
After replacing the following parts with

Preparation and precautions
before starting the operation
# Download DSP_FLASHER(YSP).exe and spDownloader_2_0_x_xxx.exe from the specified source to the PC being used.
# Prepare the above specified RS232C cross cable.
# While writing, keep the other application software on the PC closed. It is also recommended to keep the software on the task tray closed as well

Operation Procedure
Writing of CPU
1. Install DSP_FLASHER(YSP).exe into the
PC.
2. Before turning on the power to YSP-1000 and PC, connect between RS232C ports with the RS232C cable

3. While pressing the reset switch of
YSP-1000, connect the power cable to the AC outlet.
* Use a fine tipped pin or the like to push the reset switch.
4. Start up DSP_FLASHER(YSP).exe, the screen will appear

6. Press the [E.P.] button and start
writing.
7. When the program transmission is
completed, the screen appears .
Then press the [OK] button to end the
procedure.
8. Disconnect the power cable of YSP-1000
from the AC outlet

6. Press the [RDY] button.
7. Connect the power cable of YSP-1000 to
the AC outlet. While pressing the “VOL+” key and “VOL-” key of the YSP-1000, press
the “STANDBY/ON” key of the remote control to activate the DIAG function.
a. Using the “UP” or “DOWN” key of the
remote control, select the DIAG menu
b. Using the “LEFT” or “RIGHT” key of the
remote control, select the DIAG sub-menu.
c. Using the “ENTER” key of the remote
control, make a change.
8. When the program transmission is
completed, the screen appears.
9. Check the SUM.
After downloading successfully, the value of “SUM from SET” is appeared.
The procedure is completed when the value is obtained for “SUM from FILE” and “SUM from SET”.

10.Press the “STANDBY/ON” key of the
YSP-1000 to turn off the power.
Writing of DSP APPLICATION / SPID
1. Install spDownloader_2_0_x_xxx.exe into
the PC.
2. Before turning on the power to YSP-1000 and PC, connect between RS232C ports with the RS232C cable (cross cable). (Fig. 1)
3. Connect the power cable of YSP-1000 to the AC outlet.
While pressing the “VOL+” key and “VOL-” key of the YSP-1000, press the “STANDBY/ON” key of the remote control to activate the DIAG function.
2. Before turning on the power to YSP-1000 and PC, connect between RS232C ports with the RS232C cable (cross cable). (Fig. 1)
3. Connect the power cable of YSP-1000 to the AC outlet.
While pressing the “VOL+” key and “VOL-” key of the YSP-1000, press the “STANDBY/ON” key of the remote control to activate the DIAG function.
a. Using the “UP” or “DOWN” key of the
remote control, select the DIAG menu
b. Using the “LEFT” or “RIGHT” key of the
remote control, select the DIAG sub-menu.
c. Using the “ENTER” key of the remote
control, make a change.
d. For restarting, use the “STANDBY/ON” key
of the YSP-1000 or the remote control.
4. Start up spDownloader_2_0_x_xxx.exe, the
screen will appear.
5. Select the data to be transmitted and
port.

6. Select Firmware and execute writing as
follows. First, select DSP APPLICATION and perform steps a to e for writing.
Then, select SPID and perform steps a to d for writing.

a. Press the button beside the Source
firmware Box.
And select the firmware.
# DSP APPLICATION : ysp2app_YSP2-0_xxxxx_.hex
# SPID : Y10xxxxxx.bin.
And select the firmware.
# DSP APPLICATION : ysp2app_YSP2-0_xxxxx_.hex
# SPID : Y10xxxxxx.bin.
b. Confirm Software Target and press the
[Download] button.
* When Source filename is selected,
Software Target box is selected automatically.
* If Software Target is different, confirm again Source filename or re-open spDownloader.
* If Software Target is different, confirm again Source filename or re-open spDownloader.
c. After downloading sccessfully,
“Downloaded ‘*****’ OK” is appeared. Confirm “FLASH Write ok” on the Serial Log
window.
d. Press the [Done] button.
e. For restarting, use the “STANDBY/ON” key of the YSP-1000 or the remote control.
f. The display returns to screen (1).

YSP-1000 to turn off the power.

The procedure is completed when the same
version shows.
9. Press the “STANDBY/ON” key of the
YSP-1000 to turn off the power..
SELF DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
Starting DIAG
To activate the DIAG function, press the “STANDBY/ON” key of the remote control while pressing V+ and V- keys of the main unit at the same time.

Starting DIAG in the protection
cancel mode
If the protection function works and causes hindrance to trouble diagnosis, cancel the protection function as described below, and it will be possible to enter the DIAG mode.
Press the “STANDBY/ON” key while simultaneously pressing those two keys indicated in the figure above. At this time, keep pressing those two keys for 3 seconds or longer. In this mode, the “SLEEP” segment of the FL display of the main unit flashes to indicate that the mode is DIAG mode with the protection functions disabled.
If the protection function works and causes hindrance to trouble diagnosis, cancel the protection function as described below, and it will be possible to enter the DIAG mode.
Press the “STANDBY/ON” key while simultaneously pressing those two keys indicated in the figure above. At this time, keep pressing those two keys for 3 seconds or longer. 1. Before canceling DIAG, execute setting for PRESET of DIAG menu No.8 (Memory initialization inhibited or Memory initialized). * In order to keep the user memory stored, be sure to select PRESET INHIBIT (Memory initialization inhibited). Any protection history will remain in memory.
2. Turn off the power by pressing the “STANDBY/ON” key of the main unit or the “STANDBY” key of the remote control.

Display provided when DIAG
started
When the monitor is connected, DIAGNOSTIC MENU appears on its screen as shown in the figure. (It remains on display until DIAG is cancelled.)

The FL display of the main unit displays
the protection function history data and the version (1 alphabet) and the DIAG
menu [sub-menu (THR ALL) of DIAG menu No.1 DSP THROUGH] a few seconds later.
Operation procedure of DIAG
menu and SUB-MENU
There are 14 MENU items, each of which has some SUBMENU items.
DIAG menu selection
Select the DIAG menu by using the UP/DOWN
(Reverse) (Forward) key of the remote control.
SUB-MENU selection
Select the DIAG sub-menu by using the LEFT/RIGHT (Reverse) (Forward) keys.
