SAMSUNG DVD-K100 SMPS SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM - KA5M0365AN - KA431

SAMSUNG DVD-K100

KA5M0365AN SMPS DRIVER DESCRIPTION
Description
The Fairchild Power Switch(FPS) product family is specially designed for an off-line SMPS with minimal external components. The Fairchild Power Switch(FPS) consist of high voltage power SenseFET and current mode PWM IC. Included PWM controller features integrated fixed frequency oscillator, under voltage lock-out, leading edge blanking, optimized gate turn-on/turn-off driver, thermal shutdown protection, over voltage protection, and temperature compensated precision current sources for loopcompensation and fault protection circuitry. Compared to discrete MOSFET and PWM controller or RCC solution, a Fairchild Power Switch(FPS) can reduce total component count, design size, weight and at the same time increase efficiency, productivity, and system reliability. It has a basic platform well suited for cost effective design in either a flyback converter or a forward converter.
Features
• Precision fixed operating frequency (100/67/50kHz)
• Low start-up current(typ. 100uA)
• Pulse by pulse current limiting
• Over current protection
• Over voltage protecton (Min. 25V)
• Internal thermal shutdown function
• Under voltage lockout
• Internal high voltage sense FET
• Auto-restart mode
Applications
• SMPS for VCR, SVR, STB, DVD & DVCD
• SMPS for Printer, Facsimile & Scanner
• Adaptor for Camcorder
KA431 PROGRAMMABLE ZENER
Features
• Programmable Output Voltage to 36 V
• Low Dynamic Output Impedance: 0.2 Ω (Typical)
• Sink Current Capability: 1.0 to 100 mA
• Equivalent Full-Range Temperature Coefficient of 50 ppm/°C (Typical)
• Temperature Compensated for Operation Over Full Rated Operating Temperature Range
• Low Output Noise Voltage
• Fast Turn-on Response
Description
The KA431 / KA431A / KA431L are three-terminal adjustable regulators with a guaranteed thermal stability over the operating temperature range. The output voltage can be set to any value between VREF (approximately 2.5 V) and 36 V with two external resistors. These devices have a typical dynamic output impedance of 0.2 Ω. Active output circuitry provides a sharp turn-on characteristic, making these devices excellent replacements for Zener diodes in many applications.

SAMSUNG DVD – HD860 Power supply circuit - ICE3B0365

SAMSUNG DVD–HD860

ICE3B0365 SMPS DRIVER
Off-Line SMPS Current Mode Controller with integrated 650V Startup Cell
Description
The new generation CoolSET-F3 provides Active Burst Mode to reach the lowest Standby Power Requirements <100mW at no load. As the controller is always active during Active Burst Mode, there is an immediate response on load jumps without any black out in the SMPS. In Active Burst Mode the ripple of the output voltage can be reduced <1%. Furthermore, to increase the robustness and safety of the system, the device enters into Auto Restart Mode in the cases of Overtemperature, VCC Overvoltage, Output Open Loop or Overload and VCC Undervoltage. By means of the internal precise peak current limitation, the dimension of the transformer and the secondary diode can be lowered which leads to more cost efficiency. An adjustable blanking window prevents the IC from entering Auto Restart or Active Burst Mode unintentionally during high load jumps. The CoolSET-F3 family consists a wide power class range of products for various applications.
Pin Functionality
SoftS (Soft Start & Auto Restart Control)
The SoftS pin combines the functions of Soft Start during Start Up and error detection for Auto Restart Mode. These functions are implemented and can be adjusted by means of an external capacitor at SoftS to ground. This capacitor also provides an adjustable blanking window for high load jumps, before the IC enters into Auto Restart Mode.
FB (Feedback)
The information about the regulation is provided by the FB Pin to the internal Protection Unit and to the internal PWM-Comparator to control the duty cycle. The FBSignal controls in case of light load the Active Burst Mode of the controller.
CS (Current Sense)
The Current Sense pin senses the voltage developed on the series resistor inserted in the source of the integrated Depl. CoolMOS. If CS reaches the internal threshold of the Current Limit Comparator, the Driver output is immediately switched off. Furthermore the current information is provided for the PWMComparator to realize the Current Mode.
Drain (Drain of integrated Depl. CoolMOS)
Pin Drain is the connection to the Drain of the internal Depl. CoolMOS
VCC (Power supply)
The VCC pin is the positive supply of the IC. The operating range is between 8.5V and 21V.
GND (Ground)
The GND pin is the ground of the controller.
Oscillator
The oscillator generates a fixed frequency. The switching frequency of ICE3Axx65x is fOSC = 100kHz and for ICE3Bxx65x f OSC = 67kHz. A resistor, a capacitor and a current source and current sink which determine the frequency are integrated. The charging and discharging current of the implemented oscillator capacitor are internally trimmed, in order to achieve a very accurate switching frequency. The ratio of controlled charge to discharge current is adjusted to reach a maximum duty cycle limitation of Dmax=0.72.
Control Unit
The Control Unit contains the functions for Active Burst Mode and Auto Restart Mode. The Active Burst Mode and the Auto Restart Mode are combined with an Adjustable Blanking Window which is depending on the external Soft Start capacitor. By means of this Adjustable Blanking Window, the IC avoids entering into these two modes accidentally. Furthermore it also provides a certain time whereby the overload detection is delayed. This delay is useful for applications which normally works with a low current and occasionally require a short duration of high current.

DVD flash Initialization & Update
Checking out MICOM & MPEG flash Version
1. Select the Setup-Support-Product information to check the Program version on the screen and front VFD display.
DVD flash Initialization & Update (firmware)
1. Prepare USB that contains SSP file(Micom) and ROM file(MPEG) for Update.
2. Select the folder which has update file, then “Updating” will appear on the screen.
After completing the update, the power will go out and on, then tray will open automatically.
3. Make the unit “NO DISC” state if there is a disc and then close the tray.
4. Press “STOP” button of Main Unit 5 seconds more, display indicator shows “INITIALIZE” then power go out.
5. Initialization complete
Buyer-Region Code Setting Method
The inserting method of Region Code after replacing the Main PBA
When replacing the Main PBA and System Micom should be inserted the region code.
- The set is not working properly if you don't insert the region code.
- The region code is inserted by the remote control.
1. Press the “AUX” button on the remote control.
2. Press the "TUNER MEMORY" button on the remote control during 4-5 seconds.
3. After step (2), you can see “TEST” on the VFD.
4. When you see “TEST” on VFD, Insert number “4”, “6” to start Region Code setting mode.
5. After step (4), you can see “− −” on the VFD. Insert the Region Code (Below table) corresponding model with “0 - 9” buttons on the remote control.
6. After step (5), you can see “15 USA” on the VFD. It means that currently System Micom program is installed by USA specification.
7. Turn the Power off.
In case of System Micom and EEPROM problem, you can apply to this. For example, during Updating program of System Micom, if Updating fail is happened, it is impossible to turn on the system from stand-by status. The system will keep the stand-by status continuously, and the touch-key function will never work. In this case, you have to change System Micom, and set up the Buyer Region code again. In case of EEPROM, you don't need to care about it. After set-up the Region code, System Micom will store the information of the region code to EEPROM automatically.
