INITIALIZATION FIRMWARE UPDATE AND POWER AMP CIRCUIT 

Initializing AV SURROUND RECEIVER
AV SURROUND RECEIVER initialization should be performed when the ucom, peripheral parts of ucom, and Digital P.W.B. are replaced.
1. Turn off the power using ON/STANDBY button.
2. Press ON/STANDBY button while simultaneously pressing SURROUND MODE and AUTO buttons.
3. Check that the entire display is flashing with an interval of about 1 second, and release your fingers from the 2 buttons and the microprocessor will be initialized.
SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
When the Flash Rom (U5302) on the HDMI PWB is replaced make sure, in order to maintain consistency with the Backup Memory, to clear the DUAL BACKUP MEMORY in the following way :
How to clear the Backup Memory
(1) Hold down the "SLEEP" and "AUTO" buttons at the same time for 3 seconds or more.
(2) The FL Display indicates "BACKUP CLEAR" while the memory is being cleared.
VERSION UPGRADE PROCEDURE OF FIRMWARE
How to update by DPMS
You can update by downloading the latest firmware from the Internet.
Connecting to the Network
(1) System Requirement

Settings

Check for Update and Update
Check if the latest firmware exists. You can also check approximately how long it will take to complete an update.
(1) Press the MENU button on the remote control to display the GUI menu.
(2) Use the cursor buttons to select "Manual Setup" > "Option Setup" > "Firmware Update" > "Update Check".
(3) Press the ENTER buttom.
The latest version of the firmware uploaded to the web is displayed.
If the latest firmware version is on the web, proceed to (4).
If the latest firmware is already installed, press the MENU button to close the menu.
(4) Use the cursor buttons to select "Update", then press the ENTER button.
During update, the power indicator lights red and the GUI screen is shut down. And a rough remaining time is indicated on the display.
When updating is complete the power indicator turns off and normal status is resumed.
(5) Press the MENU button to close the menu
Cautions on Firmware Update
In order to use these functions, you must have the correct system requirements and settings for a broadband Internet connection.
Do not turn off the power until updating is completed.
Even with a broadband connection to the Internet, approximately about 1 hour is required for the updating procedure to be completed.
Once updating starts, normal operations on the SR7005 cannot be performed until updating is completed. Also, setting items of the GUI menu of SR7005 or setting items of the image adjustment may be initialized.
Make a note of the settings before updating, and set them again after updating.
How to update by DWF
Preparations before starting the operation2
(1) Personal Computer (Installed "DFW_0005_SR7005_(Rev.1.0.13)_exe").
(2) RS-232 cable (9P (Male), Straight).
Connection of the AV receiver
(1) Confirm the power on/off switch of the AV receiver is turning off.
(2) Connect the RS-232C cable from PC with the AV receiver

Turn on the AV receiver
Operate the following. Turn on the AV receiver.
(1) Connect the power cable to the AC outlet while simultaneously pushing the "CURSOR 0" button and the "RETURN" button of the front panel.
(2) Confirm the power indicator is green and “WRITTING” is displayed in the front panel.
Run the D&M Firmware Writer
Run the "DFW_0005_SR7005_(Rev.1.0.13)" on desktop of PC.
Communication check
(1) Click the “Check Comm.” button.
(2) When connection is good, then you can see the “Communication check OK.” message.
(3) If connection is not good, then you can see the “Communication error!” message.
Please confirm the following
(a) Check the connection of the AV receiver and PC. (refer to “2.2. Connection of the AV receiver” )
(b) Check the operation mode of the AV receiver. (refer to “2.3. Turn on the AV receiver”)
(c) Check the selection of the RS-232C port number of PC.
Download the firmware
(1) Click the "Load" button.
(2) Download the firmware from the specified download source to PC.
Complete the firmware updating
(1) Click the “Update” button.
(2) When writing of the firmware is completed, the power of this unit turns on automatically and you can see the “Update completed” message.
(3) If you can’t complete the firmware update, please retry the firmware update from “2.3. Turn on the AV receiver”.
Notice:
Please keep the following notice for firmware update.
(a) Keep the PC environment
(b) Avoid the communication cable from the electrical noise source.
(e.g. telephone cable, AC line, a fluorescent light)
(c) Don’t remove cable during update.
(d) Don’t turn off the power during update.
(e) Don’t run other PC application during update.
(f) Stop the resident program on PC (Virus checker and System check utilitu, etc)
(g) Stop the screen saver on PC.
(h) Stop the power save ability on PC.
(i) In case of laptop PC, Use the AC adaptor.
Confirming the firmware’s number after upgraded
After completion of the updating operation, the new version number can confirmed by starting up theSR7005 according to the following procedure.
With the following operation, the SR7005 can be set to the Flash ROM Version-Number Confiemation mode.
Turn on power switch while simultaneously pressing "STATUS" and "RETURN" buttons on the front panel. Every time the "STATUS" button is pressed, version number of the Model, Main, Sub, … are indicated on the front panel section in the following order.

Taking out the Disc from BD Drive Unit when the Disc cannot be ejected
by OPEN/CLOSE button .

When the power can be turned off.
1. Turn the unit off, then press and hold [OK], [Yellow] and [Blue] buttons on the remote control simultaneously for 5 seconds.
- “00 RET” is displayed on the unit’s FL display.
2. Repeatedly press the right cursor button on the remote Control or Power button on the unit until “06 FTO” is displayed on the
unit's FL display.
3. Press [OK] button on the remote control or [OPEN/CLOSE] button on the unit.
When the power can not be turned off.
Press [POWER] button on the unit for over 4 seconds to turn off the power forcibly, and step 1 to 3 above.
When the Forcible Disc Eject can not be done.
1. Turn off the power and pull out AC cord.
2. Remove the Top Case.
3. Put the unit so that bottom can be seen.
4. Insert paper clips, etc. into the hole on the bottom of BD Drive and slide the paper clips, etc. in the direction of the arrow to eject tray slightly.

5. Pull the unit upward, and push out Tray by paperclips, etc. or minus screw driver (small).

Service Mode
About the Service Mode
Informations necessary for service can be displayed.
How to enter the Service Mode
Press 5,9 and RED button on the remote control simultaneously for 5 seconds
Press the right cursor on the remote or power button on the unit  
Press ok button on the remote or eject button on the unit
Wait 30 second service mode will display
How to exit the Service Mode
Press and hold the [Power] button (remote control or unit).
>>> The Service Mode is terminated and automatically turns the unit off.
How to Clean the Lens of the Optical Pick-UP
After performing the step “10. 2. 1. Upper Base Ass'y”, clean the lens of the Optical Pick-UP.

How to adjust the BDP/Digital P.C.B. Module
The adjustment may not resume. If interrupt the adjustment, start from the beginning phase.
Preparation:
Before starting the adjustment, install the adjustment software to PC and copy the SD DIAG software to SD card.
Note:
This adjustment software can be downloaded from “Support Information from NWBG/VDBG-AVC” web-site in “TSN system”,
together with instructions of “BD Drive Adjustment” including preparations and connections etc.
1. Connect the Serial cable (RFKZ0139) between serial port connector (P51601) on the Digital P.C.B. and PC's serial port.
# Confirm the PC’s serial port number (COM1, COM2, etc.) connected to serial cable (RFKZ0139), the port number may be set after this procedure.
2. Start the Adjustment software, then click the [Start(S)].
Selection of Model Name
3. Select the model number and click the [OK] button.
# If several other model names might appear, please select the sure model number for the adjustment.
Setting of Adjustment
4. Click the [Utility] button.
5. Click the [COM Setup] button.
6. Select the COM number that connect the serial cable (RFKZ0139) and click the [OK] button.
7. Click the [Exit] button.
8. Click the [Adjustment] button.
The Diag Adjustment (SD Diag) start
9. When below message displayed, perform followings:
a. Insert the SD Diag card to SD card slot.
b. Set the RFKZ0139 SW into “ON”.
c. Click the [OK] button.
10. When below message displayed, perform followings:
a. Connect the power cable to the unit.
b. Press the [POWER] button of the unit.
c. Click the [OK] button.
# If the BD Drive has replaced before, the following replaced date message is displayed, click the [OK] button for closing the window.
11. The unit is turned on, then “DIAG” is displayed at FL dis
play and automatically begins adjustment.
12. When below message displayed, perform followings:
a. Remove the SD Diag card from the SD card slot.
b. Disconnect the power cable from the unit.
c. Click the [OK] button.
LPC Adjustment
13. When below message displayed, perform followings:
a. Set the RFKZ0139 SW into “OFF”.
b. Connect the power cable to the unit.
c. Click the [OK] button.
14. The unit is automatically turned on. After a while the FL display displays “TEST” and automatically begins adjustment.
When the adjustment is completed, the display is
changed to “ADJ1OK”.
DVD-RAM Adjustment
15. The disc tray is automatically opened and the following message is displayed, set the DVD-RAM test disc (X5RAM-BPS) on the tray and click the [OK] button.
When clicking the [OK] button, the tray is automatically closed. After a while the FL display displays “ADJ2” and automatically begins adjustment. When the adjustment is completed, the display is changed to “ADJ2OK”.
Caution:
Do not press the [OPEN/CLOSE] button of the unit.
16. The disc tray is automatically opened and the following message is displayed, remove the DVD-RAM test disc (X5RAM-BPS) on the tray and click the [OK] button.
BD-ROM Adjustment
17. When the following message is displayed, set the BD ROM test disc (VFF0396) on the tray, then click the [OK] button.
When clicking the [OK] button, the tray is automatically closed. After a while the FL display displays “ADJ3” and automatically begins adjustment. When the adjustment is completed, the display is changed to ”ADJ3OK”.
Caution:
Do not press the [OPEN/CLOSE] button of the unit.
18. The disc tray is automatically opened and the following message is displayed, remove the BD-ROM test disc (VFF0396) on the tray and click the [OK] button.
CD-ROM Adjustment
19. When the following message is displayed, set the CD ROM test disc (CD-ROM-B01) on the tray, then click the [OK] button.
When clicking the [OK] button, the tray is automatically closed.
The FL display displays “TEST” and after a while the dis play changes to “CDDA” and adjustment is automatically begun. When the adjustment is completed, the display is changed to “TEST”.
Caution:
Do not press the [OPEN/CLOSE] button of the unit.
20. The disc tray is automatically opened and the following message is displayed, remove the CD-ROM test disc (CD-ROM-B01) on the tray and click the [OK] button.
When clicking the [OK] button, the tray is automatically closed. The FL display displays “FACT” and after a while the display changes to “FACTOK” and re-changed to “P OFF”.
Finishing the Drive Adjustment
21. When below message displayed, perform followings:
a. Confirm “P OFF” is displayed at the FL Display.
b. Disconnect the power cord from the unit.
c. Click the [OK] button.
22. Click the [Exit] button.
23. Click the [Exit] button.
24. Click the [Exit(E)] button.
The Drive Adjustment is finished.
When the latest data is updated to TSN
The data file of the adjustment software may be update because of a firmware update of the machine or other reason. In such case, perform the following steps and use the latest data.
1. Download the latest data to PC.
2. Click the “Spec Setup” button before the step 7.
3. Open the downloaded data and click the “New” button. Then retrieve the data.
4. Select the latest data and click the “OK” button.
5. Go back the step 7 and click the “Exit” button.

SERVICE MODE AND SOFTWARE UPDATE  ADJUSTMENTS 

ADJUSTMENT
 ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
Entering and exiting the adjustment process mode
1) Before entering the adjustment process mode, the AV position RESET in the video adjustment menu.
2) While holding down the “VOL (–)” and “INPUT” keys at a time, plug in the AC cord of the main unit to turn on the power.
The letter “<K>” appears on the screen.

3) Next, hold down the “VOL (–)” and “CH ( V )” keys at a time.
(The “VOL (–)” and “CH ( V )” keys should be pressed and held until the display appears.)
Multiple lines of blue characters appearing on the display indicate that the unit is now in the adjustment process mode. When you fail to enter the adjustment process mode (the display is the same as normal startup), retry the procedure.
4) To exit the adjustment process mode after the adjustment is done, unplug the AC cord from the outlet to make a forced shutdown. (When the power was turned off with the remote controller, once unplug the AC cord and plug it again. In this case, wait 10 seconds or so before plugging.)
CAUTION: Use due care in handling the information described here lest your users should know how to enter the adjustment process mode. If the settings are tampered in this mode, unrecoverable system damage may result.

Adjustment method after PWB and/or IC replacement due to repair
The unit is set to the optimum at the time of shipment from the factory. If any value should become improper or any adjustment is necessary due to the part replacement, make an adjustment according to the following procedure.
1. Procure the following units in order to replace the main unit.
MAIN UNIT: DKEYDF733FM55 (LC-60LE635E)
MAIN UNIT: DKEYDF733FM56 (LC-60LE836E)
MAIN UNIT: DKEYDF733FM57 (LC-60LE838E)
NOTE: [Caution when replacing IC (IC2001) in the main unit]
The above IC are Monitor microcomputer. Before replacing the relevant part, procure the following parts in which the data have been rewritten.
IC2001 RH-iXD241WJNJQ Monitor microcomputer
NOTE: [Caution when replacing ICs (IC8401, IC3303) in the main unit]
When replacing either IC8401 or IC3302, exchange MAIN units for DKEYDF733FM55 (LC-60LE635E), DKEYDF733FM56 (LC 60LE636E)
DKEYDF733FM57 (LC-60LE638E).
Each part should not be individually exchanged.

After replacing IC1504, execute “HDMI EDID WRITE” on the page 5/20.

The ROM data based on information of MODEL NAME & INCH SIZE.
1) Enter the process adjustment mode in TV.
2) Use the cursor keys (UP /DOWN ) and CH keys (UP /DOWN ) of R/C to select the item [HDMI EDID WRITE] on the page 5/20.
3) It is completed with OK displayed.
2. After replacing the LCD panel or LCD control/MAIN UNIT, check MODEL NAME in the following procedure.
1) Enter the process adjustment mode in TV.
2) Use the cursor keys (UP /DOWN) and CH keys (UP /DOWN) of R/C to select the item [MODEL NAME] on the page 20/20.
3) Verify that the Model name is displayed.
4) If the Model name doesn’t match, select the values of the Model name with the VOL keys (+/-).
5) After selection in Step 4), press the OK key, and it is completed with OK displayed.
6) Use the cursor keys( UP /DOWN) and CH keys (UP /DOWN) of R/C to select the item [PANEL_SIZE] on the page 20/20.
7) Verify that the panel size is displayed.
8) If the size doesn’t match, select the values of the panel size with the VOL keys (+/-).
9) After selection in Step 8), press the OK key, and it is completed with OK displayed.
10)After setting [MODEL NAME] [PANEL_SIZE], unplug the AC power cord and plug it back in.
3. After replacing the LCD panel or LCD control PWB, adjust the VCOM in the following procedure.
1) Enter the process adjustment mode.
2) Use the cursor keys ( / ) and CH keys ( / ) of R/C to select the item [VCOM ADJ] on the page 10/20.
3) Press the OK key to verify that the adjustment pattern is displayed.
4) Use VOL keys (+/-) of R/C to adjust the flicker in the center of the screen to minimum.
5) When the optimal state is achieved in Step 4), press the OK key to turn the pattern to OFF.
Special features
1. NORMAL STANDBY CAUSE
Display of a cause (code) of the last standby.
The cause of the last standby is recorded in EEPROM whenever it is possible.
Checking this code will be useful in finding a problem when you repair the troubled set.
2. EEP SAVE (Page 24/20)
Storage of EEP adjustment value.
3. EEP RECOVER (Page 20/20)
Retrieval of EEP adjustment value from storage area
MONITOR ERR CAUSE
Display of a cause (code) of Error from Monitor microcomputer.
The cause of Error is recorded in EEPROM whenever it is possible.
Checking this code will be useful in finding a problem when you repair the troubled set.
1) This displays Error code and time when the error occurred.
The latest error is displayed on “1)”.
The error that happens ahead of “1)” is displayed on “2)”.
2) The character depends on the way how to acquire Time Information.
T: Time is acquired from digital broadcasting
This doesn’t contain “Time offset” which is considered a time difference and Daylight-Saving Time, etc. ...
U: Time is acquired from analog broadcasting (teletext)
B: Accumulation time of Backlight
In the case that Time information cannot be acquired, “B” is displayed.
Example) In this example, it is shown that the error occurred 3 times.
T: Time is acquired from digital broadcasting
This doesn’t contain “Time offset” which is considered a time difference and Daylight-Saving Time, etc. ...
U: Time is acquired from analog broadcasting (teletext)
B: Accumulation time of Backlight
In the case that Time information cannot be acquired, “B” is displayed.

4) 00 0000000000000 No error (“00” shows that the error is not occurred.)
Lamp Error detection
1. Function
This LCD color TV set incorporates a Lamp error detection feature that automatically turns off the power for safety under abnormal lamp or lamp
circuit conditions. If by any chance anything is wrong with the lamp or lamp circuit or if the lamp error detection feature is activated for some reason, the following will result.
1) The power is interrupted in about 500ms after it is turned on.
(A central icon on the front of the TV flash on and off.: ON for 400ms and OFF for 1600ms.)
2) If the above phenomenon 1) occurs 5 times, it becomes impossible to turn on the power.
(A central icon keep flashing on/off.)
2. Measures
1) Set the lamp error detection to OFF
Enter the adjustment process mode
 The adjustment process mode can ignore “5 times count”, so If the above phenomenon 1) occurs 1~4 times, the lamp will go out.
If Lamp Error detection pin [4pin of PD: P9602/19pin of IC2001] is “High” by a trouble with the lamp and lamp circuit, it can boot-up by the adjustment process mode.
Please execute “Lamp Error detection off-mode”.
Unplug the AC power cord of running TV set to force off the power.
While holding down the “VOL (-)” and “CH ( UP )” keys on the set at once, touch the power supply key on the set.
After a central icon flash off, separate the fingers from key on the set.
Then, you can check the operation to see if the lamp and lamp circuit are in trouble.
If you fail boot-up, retry the procedure.
2) Resetting the lamp error count
After the lamp and lamp circuit are improved from a trouble, reset the lamp error count.
(Because the power cannot be turned on, if a lamp error is detected 5 consecutive times.)
a) Enter the adjustment process mode. Entering and exiting the adjustment process mode”.
b) Using the cursor ( UP/DOWN ) key, move to the cursor to [LAMP ERROR RESET], Line 8 on adjustment process mode service page 2/20.
c) With the cursor ( LEFT/RIGHT ) keys, select the [LAMP ERROR RESET] value.
Finally press the cursor (OK)., the count is reset.
Check LAMP ERROR Count on adjustment process mode Page 2/20.
Public Mode
1. Starting the Public Mode
# There are two following ways to display the PUBLIC Mode setting screen.
1) Turn off the power, and turn it on again, pressing the “CHANNEL UP” and “Volume UP” keys of the main unit at the same time.
Please separate the finger from the power supply key when boot-up is confirmed with lighting of a central icon etc.
After a while, value of Enter password appears on the screen.
a) Turn off the power, refer to “3. Method of shuts down for Power supply”.
b) While holding down the “INPUT” and “Volume (+)” keys on the set at once, touch the power supply key on the set.
Please separate the finger from the power supply key when boot-up is confirmed with lighting of a central icon etc.
After a while, value of Enter password appears on the screen.
c) Display the Pass Word input screen.
2. Exiting the Public Mode Setting screen
# There are two following ways to exit the Public Mode setting screen.
1) Turn off the power.
2) Select “Execution” in the PUBLIC_Mode to execute it.
Activate the restart under the set content.
Here, the START input SOURCE setting is excluded since this item is referred to only when the power is turned on.
3. Set value of the Public Mode
# When the shipment setting is done, a set each value in Public Mode is initialized.
(PUBLIC MODE in the process mode Setting of a flag is also initialized)
# Separately, the shipment beginnings when all except for each set value in Public Mode is initialized are provided for a process mode.
(INDUSTRY INIT (-Public))
# Only when turning on the PUBLIC MODE item, each setting is effective.
# After it decides it with EXECUTE, it AC OFF/ON it to reflect a set value.
White balance adjustment
For white balance adjustment, adjust the offset values on pages 11/20.
[Condition of the unit for inspection] : Modulated light (+16)
AV MODE: DYNAMIC
Active Backlight: OFF
OPC: OFF
Asing Time: Min, 60 minute
[Input signal condition] : HDMI 1080i 15IRE (LO), 78IRE (HI)
[Adjustment reference device] : Minolta CA-210
[Adjustment procedure]
1) Display the current adjustment status at R/G/B_GAIN (HI). (Page 11/20 of process adjustment)
The signal of 78IRE is input.
2) Read the value of the luminance meter. x=0.272, y =0.277
3) Change R_GAIN (HI)/ B_GAIN (HI) (Adjustment offset value) on page 11/20 of process adjustment so that the values of the luminance meter
approach x=0.272 and y =0.277.
(Basically, G is not changed. If adjustment fails with R and B, change G. When G is lowered, the weaker of R or B must be fixed.)
4) Display the adjustment status of the current R/G/B_GAIN (LO).
The signal of 15IRE is input.
Change R_GAIN (LO)/ B_GAIN (LO) (adjustment offset value) on page 11/20 of process adjustment so that the values of the luminance meter
approach x =0.272 and y = 0.277.
5) Both HI and LO are repeating the step from 1 to 4 until becoming an aim value.
[Adjustment reference standard value]

6) After completing adjustments, set EEP SAVE (Page 20/20) to ON in the process menu to save the white balance adjustment value.
Confirmation item
1. HDMI-CEC Inspection
After repairing the CEC function, check the operation about HDMI-CEC circuit.
2. CI card Inspection
After repairing the CI function, check that the DTV signal is received by inserting CAM.
And check the KEY certification by inserting CAM which is prepare for CI+.
3. LAN Inspection (NET)/test connectivity of SD card.
After repairing the LAN function, check the communication by connecting PC and LAN terminal.
And test connectivity of SD card.

5. IR communication Check/IR Emitter (Infrared light Output) Inspection.
Factory settings
[Factory setting with adjustment process mode]
# Enter the adjustment process mode.
# Move the cursor to [INDUSTRY INIT] on page 2/20.
# Use the R/C key to select a region from [EUROPE/RUSSIA/SWEDEN] and
press the [OK] key.
# “EXECUTING” display appears.
# After a while, “SUCCESS” display appears, the setting is completed.
When succeeding: Background color (green)
When failing: Background color (red)
Upgrading the software
1. Turn on the AC power.
2. Insert the upgrading USB flash memory for upgrade into the service slot. (After a while, an external input changes into USB automatically.)
3. Use the Menu button and cursor keys ( UP/DOWN /LEFT /RIGHT ), Ch keys ( UP/DOWN ) of R/C or on the set to select Menu - Setup - Information - Software update
- USB update on OSD menu.
4. The message (Insert the USB memory device contains the software update file) shows up. Push OK when if there is no problem.

Service Mode Function
MPU controls the functions switching for each IICs through IIC bus in this chassis. The following setting and adjustment can
be adjusted by remote control in Service Menu
How to enter SERVICE
While pressing (-/v) button on the TV unit, press 0 on the remote control for 3 times within 2 seconds.
Note:
To exit from Service mode, press the exit button on remote control.
Key Command
# Press the 3/4 button to change the adjustment values or function.
# Press the 1/2 button to step up/down through the functions and adjustments
# Press the numerical button VOLUME (+/-) to change of each option item.
# Press the OK button after each adjustment has been made to store the required values.
Subcontrast adjustment
1. Receive PAL colour bar (100% white) RF signal.
2. Enter “Contrast” adj. In SERVICE mode.
3. Start adjusting by using Yellow Key.
4. If the adjustment finished normally, the letter of Contrast will change from red
to black.
White Balance adjustment
1. Procedure basically performs checking using the production software and
make automatic adjustment using external computer.
2. It adjusts in the mode of: Colour balance Normal
